Base pay range $55,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr
Job Summary As an Architectural Project Designer, you will assist on a subset of Trileaf’s architectural and MEP projects from conception to completion. You will leverage your background in interior design, architecture, and building codes to assist in the successful execution of Construction Documents and Permitting, including coordination with other disciplines. You will work with Senior Project Designers, Project Managers, and Architects, learning permitting requirements of various states, identifying and correcting building code compliance issues, and completing CDs to the satisfaction of the Architect of Record and the local Authority Having Jurisdiction, with moderate oversight.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with a subset of Trileaf’s projects
Perform a cursory overview of the project upon receipt, to identify any potential issues with the Design Intent, on‑site conditions, and any additional services that might be necessary for completion (e.g., Structural engineering, civil engineering, Site Plans, etc.).
Attend a kickoff meeting with the Architect of Record and Lead Designer, presenting proposed solutions.
Within 2‑3 business days, complete a Background Drawing and provide it to Trileaf’s internal MEP department with a timeline.
Over the course of the next 10‑15 business days (dependent on client and prototype), assist in completing a full set of Architectural Construction Documents.
Complete your own self‑QA/QC to identify any errors.
Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Additionally, the Project Designer will keep notes updated in the internal tracking system and attend several meetings each week on project status.
Fill out Permit Applications in coordination with the client.
Submit the CDs to the jurisdiction in the requested manner.
Coordinate any Plan Review fees with the client and work through Trileaf’s reimbursement requirements.
Periodically follow up with the jurisdiction for updates and provide those to the client.
Work through any redlines and/or demonstrations requested from the AHJ.
Upon approval, pull the AHJ‑stamped CDs and submit to the client (if applicable).
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of Building Codes, including Accessibility Compliance.
Strong drafting ability in AutoCAD; RevIT a plus.
Experience producing CD sets for retail, convenience stores, and/or restaurants is preferred but not required.
Education
BA/BS in Architecture, Interior Design, or equivalent experience.
