Division of Student Life - Social Media Lead
Apply within the next 7 days. The role supports the Division’s strategic communications plan by creating strong social media content, pitching creative ideas, and developing and executing content plans across channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
Key Responsibilities
Manages, writes, edits, and produces social media communications for designated channels.
Develops annual strategic social media plans for each area they represent.
Produces and executes planned and unplanned social media content around campus-wide events as they happen.
Establishes guidance for the Division of Student Life’s social media presence.
Collects, interprets, and shares analytics regarding social media presence.
Counsels divisional partners on social media best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in strategic communications, marketing, journalism, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
1‑3 years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations.
Extensive knowledge of marketing channels including public relations, web and social media; demonstrated experience developing and executing communication plans.
Working knowledge of social media analytics tracking and writing professionally for various platforms.
Vision, initiative, and ability to work as part of a team.
Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience creating and maintaining a welcoming and respectful environment.
Strong ability to manage multiple concurrent projects or activities, effectively prioritizing and allocating time.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Demonstrated experience managing social media presence for a large organization.
Highly Desirable Qualifications
Previous experience in higher education or student services.
Previous supervisory experience, preferably with student employees.
Desirable Qualifications
Familiarity with a college or university setting.
Three (3) or more years of related experience.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience with automated work order systems for managing multiple projects.
Some experience with planning and executing large initiatives.
