The Assistant Coach for Stanford Artistic Swimming plays a vital role in supporting the development and success of one of the nation’s top collegiate artistic swimming programs. Reporting to the Head Coach, the assistant coach collaborates closely in all facets of team operations and athlete mentorship to maintain and grow program excellence. This is a 6-month fixed-term position.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing daily training sessions and practice plans tailored to collegiate-level artistic swimmers.

Mentor and support student-athletes’ athletic and academic balance, fostering a positive team culture and high-performance mindset.

Contribute to choreography, technique refinement, and routine development for competitive meets.

Support recruitment efforts including athlete evaluations, communications, and campus visit coordination.

Aid in competition logistics including travel planning, meet preparation, and on‑site coaching support.

Collaborate with the coaching staff on athlete development strategies and performance evaluations.

Uphold compliance with NCAA regulations and Stanford University athletic policies.

Qualifications

Demonstrated coaching experience in artistic swimming, preferably at the collegiate or elite level.

Strong knowledge of artistic swimming technique, choreography, and competition rules.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to mentor and motivate student‑athletes effectively.

Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive team environment.

Prior experience in recruiting and/or athlete development is highly desirable.

Understanding of NCAA compliance and academic support systems is a plus.

Pay Range The expected pay range for this position is $68,640 - $72,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
