VP COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING (UA-VPCM-IUBLA)

General Responsibilities

Identify and manage basic, complex, and urgent videography projects across a variety of marketing and communications needs; set timelines, determine desired video composition, conduct necessary interviews, and select and adjust subjects, equipment, and lighting to achieve artistic objectives.

Capture and edit video footage using equipment and software, including Adobe Creative Suite, while meeting the formatting specifications for diverse audiences and platforms; delegate basic editing tasks to Videography Assistants as appropriate.

Consult regularly with marketing, communications staff and key stakeholders to define project needs and ensure alignment with strategy and objectives.

Maintain inventory of filming equipment, including editing lab gear, lenses, lights, and cameras; perform basic and advanced equipment repairs.

Seek input from peers and stakeholders on various videography projects to evaluate effectiveness of aesthetics, lighting, and imagery.

Provide organizational training on videography methodology and strategy and, as needed, offer guidance to Videography Assistants or junior Videographers.

Education Required

Bachelor's degree in video production, art, or a related field.

Preferred

Experience creating consistently branded videos that encourage sharing, engagement, and promotion of high‑value programs and initiatives.

Proficiency in large- and small-scale video production, from long lead times to rapid turn production.

Work Experience Required

Two years of experience in a relevant field.

Preferred

Experience in creating consistent, branded videos that drive engagement and promotion.

Experience in both long- and short‑turn video production.

Skills Required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

High professionalism and strong attention to detail.

Demonstrated time‑management and priority‑setting abilities.

Strong reliability and high accuracy, even under pressure.

Preferred

Responsive, collaborative, and a proven track record of video storytelling.

This role regularly requires effective communication, handling of equipment, maintaining stationarity while ascending/descending ladders or stairs, and moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The person in this role must be able to detect items in various proximities, discern color, identify details, and possess good depth perception. The role requires performing essential functions with or without accommodation. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary.
