Marketing Assistant

– PR & Mktg Spec I – Working Title: Marketing Assistant – Agency: Danville Community College – Position Number: 279W0068 – Pay Band 02 – Pay: $15–$17 per hour – Part‑time – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday – Wednesday.

This role will serve an integral part of the Public Relations and Marketing Team. The incumbent will support purchasing, web development, photography, and other day‑to‑day operations of the department, helping to build brand equity and community awareness of DCC programs and services.

Responsibilities May be required to perform other duties as assigned and to assist the agency or state government during an emergency declaration by the Governor.

Qualifications

Understanding of basic business and marketing concepts

Familiarity with social media, social networking, email marketing and search engines

Strong written and verbal communication skills

High level of organization and attention to detail

Comfort with multi‑tasking in a deadline‑driven environment

Excellent time‑management skills

Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills

Strong writing and copy‑editing abilities

Ability to work with a variety of faculty, staff, students, administration, and community members

Additional Considerations

Relevant marketing experience

Relevant purchasing experience
