Temp Copywriter (Social Content)
Temporary role until January 15th, 2026. Remote.
About the Role Our award‑winning Social.Monks team is seeking a talented and creative Temp Copywriter (Social Content). In this remote role, you will develop and execute content strategies for Social Media "Always On" accounts, engaging with our clients’ communities to drive engagement, build brand loyalty, and increase brand awareness. The temporary role will last until January 15th, 2026.
You’ll be the voice & content generator across clients’ social media channels, spotting trends in culture/social media and turning them into on‑brand insights. You’ll go from uncovering insights to developing concepts, generating creative content (including capturing & editing lo‑fi static & video content on mobile, when needed), posting content and responding to posts authentically within brand guidelines. Responsibilities
Be a culture and music lover (preferably Hip Hop and R&B) who can translate what’s happening on social media into brand‑relevant content.
Serve as the “voice” of a brand on social media, from creating posts to engaging with fans’ comments.
Create ideas, research content, and develop copy for social media posts and content calendars on behalf of brands.
Act as a proactive leader, always looking for additional content that makes the client stand out.
Dive into a community and authentically speak with people to create content based on observations.
Manage content calendars and ensure production turns ideas into reality.
Collaborate with social strategy and account management to keep channels on brand.
Stay up‑to‑date with cultural and social trends, share them with the team, and ideate participation when relevant.
Act fast and be flexible to jump on new opportunities for impactful work.
Deliver fast turnaround on projects and excel under tight deadlines.
Develop and execute content strategies for Social Media "Always On" accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn).
Bring ideas to life by creating, filming, and editing ready‑to‑post reels.
Capture aesthetically (bonus: edit original content on a mobile device).
Collaborate with strategy & production teams to develop compelling graphics, videos, and other visual content.
Adapt creatively to data and insights shared by the social media team.
Collaborate and share ideas, inspiration, and best practices with the social and creative teams.
Establish evolving best practices for content creation.
Deliver on different aesthetic tones for a variety of client brand guidelines.
Understand TikTok and Instagram reels and how to create content specifically for these platforms.
Qualifications
On top of culture and trends, you know what’s going to be cool before it is, including emerging channels, tools, and networks.
Deep understanding of social media best practices, formats, tone of voice, and key channel ecosystems (Instagram, TikTok) – trends, hashtags, music usage, functionalities, guidelines, and platform updates.
Ability to travel to office & onsite client locations as needed.
3‑5 years of experience in Community Management (when applicable).
2‑3 years of experience in developing content for brands.
1‑2 years of agency experience is a plus.
Significant experience as an Instagram & TikTok user.
Experience with AI tools is a plus.
History of creating content that performed well and drove attention for yourself or a brand.
Knows the ins‑and‑outs of social listening, including metrics, tools, and digital reports.
Experience developing or implementing community manager strategies.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Strong writing skills for ad‑hoc copy requests and copy suggestions.
Strong attention to detail (extremely important for this role).
Strong organizational/ QA skills for publishing on high‑profile channels.
Familiar with scheduling tools and social listening tools.
Knowledge in managing Content Management Systems.
Comfortable interacting with internal departments and clients.
Proficient in Adobe Premiere.
What We Offer Hourly Rate: $30—$40 USD.
