Job Summary: Performs visual and dimensional inspections according to documented visual aids, instructions and/or specifications on a variety of materials and assemblies to ensure quality levels for incoming materials and outgoing products. Essential Duties And Responsibilities: Makes intricate visual inspection of incoming materials and/or production assemblies and sub-assemblies to ensure conformance with quality standards. Selects and reads appropriate documentation from a broad range of reference materials. Selects appropriate inspection tooling and method. Performs First Article Inspection, and completes the appropriate forms/reports with all results and required information. Applies knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles, and interpretation of IPC-610 acceptance criteria and Jabil Workmanship Standards in determining pass/fail of inspected part or assembly. Ensures parts conform to Jabil, customer, and regulatory quality standards. Moves parts to workstation for inspection, as necessary. Accesses Jabil quality inspection systems via computer, communicates with workcell regarding inspection and quality issues. Assists engineers in the investigation of defects, additional inspections, and sorting efforts. Generates and communicates Quality Notifications and/or Quick Response Quality Control reports in accordance to standard procedures. Reviews engineering disposition of suspect material/assemblies and refers unacceptable responses to Quality Supervisor for further action. Acts as final checkpoint for raw materials and finished goods prior to being shipped to customer or end user. Ensures parts conform to customer quality standards. Moves parts to workstation for inspection, as necessary. Job Qualifications: US Citizenship High School Diploma (Relevant Certifications Preferred) 2+ years of inspection in a production environment preferred Ability to lift 30 lbs unassisted Ability to travel within the greater San Jose area Experienced with Microsoft Excel and Outlook Knowledge Requirements: Ability to demonstrate a Quality First, zero defect mentality. Ability to operate basic measurement tools and demonstrate repeatable and reproducible results on a consistent basis. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read and comprehend drawings to determine critical specifications and requirements. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, visual aids, and procedures. Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software. Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil's software packages. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to calmly absorb and react to information quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Ability to effectively communicate, present information, and respond to questions from cross-functional teams and auditors.
