Job Description Job Description RF Engineer - High Power RF & Solid-State Design Location: Lancaster, PA Job Type: Full-time Department: Engineering / RF Systems Reports To: Director of Engineering Job Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced RF Engineer with a strong background in solid-state design , RF theory , vacuum tube technology , and high-power transmitters to join our engineering team in Lancaster, PA . The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in radio frequency (RF) systems , electrical engineering theory and practice , and familiarity with TMD (Transmitters, Modulators, and Drivers) technology. This role involves the design, development, and testing of high-power RF amplifiers and transmitter systems for defense, aerospace, or broadcast applications. Key Responsibilities: Design and analyze high-power RF amplifier circuits using both vacuum tube and solid-state technologies. Apply advanced knowledge of RF and microwave theory , electrical engineering principles , and vacuum tube design . Develop and optimize TMD systems for high-performance and high-reliability applications. Perform simulations and modeling of RF components and subsystems using tools such as ADS, HFSS, or CST . Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate high-power RF systems into larger platforms. Troubleshoot and improve existing designs for better performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Conduct laboratory testing and validation, including tuning and measurement of high-power RF systems. Document designs, procedures, test results, and technical specifications to support production and compliance. Stay up-to-date on industry advancements in RF and vacuum tube technologies. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering , Physics , or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in RF design, high power transmitters, or tube engineering. Proficient in vacuum tube theory , solid-state power amplifiers , and RF circuit design . Hands-on experience with high-voltage , high-power RF components and systems. Familiarity with TMD (Transmitters, Modulators, Drivers) design and integration. Strong analytical and practical troubleshooting skills. Proficient in RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, etc.). U.S. citizenship or permanent residency may be required due to defense-related projects. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with defense, aerospace , or broadcast RF systems . Knowledge of thermal management , EMI/EMC compliance , and system-level design . Familiarity with vacuum tube suppliers and lifecycle management. Background in solid-state modulator or pulse power system design.
