Overview SAIC is seeking Technical Writers to join the Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS) Advanced Development Operations (DevOps) and Sustainment Support (ADOS) program and provide on-site technical and administrative support to facilitate operations of critical MARS infrastructure and services. This effort focuses on providing a comprehensive set of System/ Software Engineering and IT Services to maintain, sustain, enhance, and improve/ modernize MARS. This position will be located in the National Capital Region.
Please note that this is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated decision expected by Winter/ Spring 2026.
Technical Writer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities Translate technical information into clear, understandable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.
Gather information, interview SMEs, and conduct additional research to convey material in a concise and effective manner.
Compose and edit technical documentation including Knowledge Articles, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user manuals, governance and control gates documentation, training materials, installation guides, and reports.
Establish the overall organizational layout and editorial standards of submissions and manage the schedule, assignments, and meetings associated with all narratives and submissions.
Support quality control activities to ensure accuracy of each publication and ensure documentation complies with all applicable specifications, standards, and other constraints.
Qualifications Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Bachelors degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering and 6 years or more relevant experience (will consider an additional 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree).
Proficiency in creating technical documentation, developing user manuals, and writing clear and concise content.
Experience in conducting research, gathering technical information, and organizing documentation.
Strong understanding of technical writing standards, documentation tools, and content management.
