Job Summary We’re looking for a detail-oriented and creative

Communications & Engagement Coordinator

to support onboarding delivery, local content creation, and site engagement efforts across our R&D organization. This entry-level role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting people, producing engaging content, and helping new hires feel welcomed and informed. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver meaningful experiences and communications that foster community and collaboration in a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and personalize onboarding experiences, through communications, logistics, check‑ins, and resource management, to ensure new hires feel welcomed, informed, and supported.

Draft and edit internal communications and engagement platforms tailored to R&D audiences, including newsletters, updates, and announcements.

Produce localized visual and video content using enterprise tools to showcase team culture and highlight onsite engagement.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to promote site‑wide initiatives and ensure consistent messaging across departments.

Support planning of site engagement activities including recognition programs and science‑focused community‑building initiatives.

Manage internal communication platforms and digital signage to ensure timely, engaging, and consistent messaging across the site.

Assist Workplace Services and Communications teams by contributing to planning, content development, and coordination of deliverables.

Maintain communication calendars and assist in tracking engagement metrics to inform future strategies.

Track and report communication metrics to evaluate impact and inform continuous improvement efforts.

Ensure all communications reflect the company’s values, tone, and commitment to scientific excellence.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Internship or volunteer experience in communications or employee engagement is a plus.

Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.

Expertise in creating, curating, and publishing compelling content across social media platforms to engage, inform, and influence a targeted audience.

Comfortable using digital tools such as Microsoft Office and Canva.

Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks.

Passion for building community and supporting employee engagement in a technical environment.

Preferred Skills

Experience with basic graphic design or video editing tools.

Familiarity with internal communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams).
