Work Overview This Communications Senior Specialist serves as a communications resource supporting the Company’s communications for customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The role also provides communications strategy, planning and execution for transformation and innovation initiatives managed by the Company’s Customer Support organization.

Hybrid Work Policy Eversource supports work‑life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Essential Functions

Develops, supports and guides strategic messaging across customer channels.

Provides copy editing for stories, publications and other communication vehicles.

Works closely with the various Business Units and Communications teams to ensure alignment between internal and external strategies and content.

Serve as strategic communications lead for Customer Support transformation and innovation initiatives at Eversource by developing and managing communications strategy, plans and project timelines.

Able to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines.

Synthesizes potentially complex information for presentation to diverse stakeholders.

Takes a digital first approach to communications planning and content development.

Participates in assigned projects and develops, recommends and executes appropriate communications strategies.

Understands changing regulations and policies that affect customer communications.

Works collaboratively and advises key business partners to ensure communications programs advance key business objectives with employees, state and regional policy leaders, customers and government agencies.

Monitors media activity to anticipate and/or identify communication opportunities for customers.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

Written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to effectively inform, educate and influence widely varying audiences.

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.

Demonstrated skill with MS Office Applications (especially Word and PowerPoint).

Ability to work effectively with various levels within the organization and with external counterparts.

Ability to work productively in a fast‑paced environment with frequently shifting and/or conflicting priorities.

Ability and willingness to work with a sense of urgency and drive business results.

Education and Experience

Minimum of five (5) or more years of related experience in a corporate communication and/or an agency environment is required.

Experience in planning, writing, coordinating, and executing a variety of internal and external communications, public relations and/or media relations is required.

Working Conditions

Compensation and Benefits Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. Salary is commensurate with your experience. This position is eligible for a potential incentive. The annual salary range for this position is: $104,440.00–$116,040.00

Worker Type and Openings Regular – Full‑time. Number of openings: 1.

Emergency Response Responding to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs is part of every employee’s role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
