Job Description The Director Casualty Claims Design leads strategic initiatives to enhance adjuster processes for resolving casualty claims, with accountability for profit and loss, transformation, people leadership, expense management, customer experience, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and communicate a vision for claims design aligned with corporate objectives.
Develop and execute multi-year strategies for large-scale design initiatives, ensuring transparency and stakeholder engagement.
Maintain expertise in claims, technology trends, and the competitive landscape to drive innovation.
Build and lead a high-performing claims design team, fostering excellence and accountability.
Continuously improve design processes, metrics, and best practices.
Oversee the full design lifecycle, from concept to launch and optimization.
Direct analysis and reporting of claims performance and expense management.
Partner with technology, operations, and business leaders for successful development and delivery of strategic initiatives.
Align with Claims Delivery and stakeholders to support operational commitments and drive synergy.
Lead initiatives for growth, profitability, and process improvement.
Champion a customer-centric culture, ensuring the organization meets evolving customer and frontline employee needs.
Represent the claims design function in executive forums internally and externally.
Identify and integrate emerging technologies (AI, automation) to transform the claims experience.
Foster innovation and continuous improvement, balancing visionary thinking with practical execution.
Guide the evolution of claims design architecture for future growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
12+ years of experience (preferred).
Advanced knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and regulatory requirements.
Proven ability to lead large, geographically dispersed teams through change management.
Expertise in claim processes, policies, procedures, systems, coverage, liability, damage estimation, and settlement.
Advanced analytical, negotiation, and arbitration skills.
Conflict management and problem resolution.
Experience in strategic and operational leadership within claims, design, or related fields.
Deep understanding of technological trends and their application in claims operations.
Experience developing strategies to improve results through technology and data.
Experience partnering with technology and managing vendor relationships.
Ability to simplify complex processes and concepts.
Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and executive stakeholder management.
Commitment to customer-centric leadership and innovative problem-solving.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role includes supervisory duties.
Compensation Compensation offered for this role is $171,000.00 - 230,250.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
