Voice Communication Workstream Product Owner
to advance the National Airspace System. This role leads the strategy, development, and lifecycle management of voice communication systems that support FAA’s next‑generation air traffic control infrastructure.
About the Role As Product Owner you will:
Own the FAA voice communication product portfolio, guiding the full lifecycle from concept through deployment and sustainment.
Define and execute product strategies that align with FAA modernization objectives and stakeholder needs.
Conduct market research and feasibility analyses to identify opportunities for new features and system enhancements.
Translate operational and technical requirements into actionable product roadmaps, specifications, and feature sets.
Manage product performance, positioning, and competitive analysis to maintain market leadership.
Lead cross‑functional collaboration with engineering, program management, systems integration, and UX teams.
Develop and manage product budgets, business plans, and performance metrics to achieve financial and mission goals.
Drive cost reduction and margin optimization through continuous improvement and strategic sourcing.
Support marketing and communications efforts including presentations, demonstrations, and technical symposia.
Provide sales and capture teams with product strategy and competitive intelligence.
Conduct product training sessions and serve as subject matter expert for stakeholders.
Represent Peraton in FAA product and program reviews, offering insight into roadmap progress, risks, and opportunities.
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
12+ years of experience with BS/BA; 10+ years with MS/MA; 7+ years with Ph.D.
8‑12 years in product management, systems engineering, or telecommunications within a federal or aviation environment.
Proven experience managing complex, mission‑critical communication systems or related technology portfolios.
Strong understanding of air traffic management systems, FAA voice networks, or similar operational communication architectures.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing product roadmaps that align with customer mission and business objectives.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a highly regulated, performance‑driven environment.
Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with FAA programs (BNATCS, NextGen, TechOps) or other aviation communication systems.
PMP, AIPMM, or SAFe Product Owner certification.
Familiarity with FAA enterprise systems, acquisition frameworks, and NAS voice modernization initiatives.
Background in digital voice, IP‑based communication technologies, or system integration within safety‑critical environments.
Target Salary Range $135,000 – $216,000. Salary is determined by scope, responsibilities, experience, and location.
