Designer
Crate and Barrel Designers have a passion for helping customers see what is possible with the latest on-trend merchandise. They build meaningful, long-term relationships with customers and use comprehensive product knowledge to guide and advise on furnishing rooms or adding accent pieces. Designers are up-to-date on trends, trained across a range of styles from classic to contemporary, and utilize digital tools during in‑store and in‑home consultations to bring customers’ visions to life. A day in the life as a Designer…
Drive sales and provide a differentiated experience by enriching customer interactions and elevating design offerings in-store, in‑home, and virtually.
Create elevated designs using preferred design tools to produce moodboards, 2D & 3D floor plans, product lists, and customer presentations.
Lead design consultations in person (in‑store or in‑home) or via email, phone, and virtual channels.
Deliver projects on time and within determined timelines.
Understand brand aesthetics and merchandising strategy for channels: Store, E‑Commerce, Catalog.
Maintain comprehensive product knowledge, including product characteristics, care information, and industry trends.
Achieve individual sales, KPI, and service goals, meeting productivity standards and demonstrating selling skills on the sales floor.
Actively listen to customers to identify the best products that meet their needs and communicate loyalty services (e.g., designer rewards, Design Trade Program, credit card).
Support excellent service by exhibiting a positive attitude and enthusiasm, ensuring all customers receive gracious, quick, and efficient service.
Support store training and educate on design services to drive a clear understanding of design services and offerings.
Develop new, lasting relationships with customers through networking and clienteling.
What you'll bring to the table…
Understanding of basic design functions including spatial planning, fabric selection, lighting, and interior design styles.
Excellent, effective, and timely communication skills and the ability to translate brand vision and customer wants/needs.
Strong affinity for technology (2D and 3D tools, Google suite, video conferencing, iPad) and proficiency in floor planning.
Ability to stay up-to-date on current design trends.
Proven track record of building long-lasting relationships with customers.

6+ months competitive sales or interior design service experience preferred.
Ability to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds; heavier merchandise with team assist.
Full‑time roles: Open availability to work flexible hours on weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
Part‑time roles: Availability to work two or more weekend days (Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday) and at least one weekday or night.
Minimum Starting Rate:
$16.00 Hourly
