Job Summary University of Utah Health is seeking a motivated

Web Content Specialist

to join our Digital Experience team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who loves writing, editing, and shaping meaningful digital content that helps patients and communities find the care and information they need.

You’ll help maintain and improve web content across all University of Utah Health websites to ensure it follows brand standards, accessibility guidelines, and SEO best practices. This role blends creativity with technical know-how and is ideal for someone eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Build and update webpages using our enterprise-level content management system (CMS).

Write, edit, and optimize content in partnership with clinical stakeholders, marketing specialists, and freelance writers.

Ensure web content follows our brand and style guide as well as SEO and ADA accessibility best practices.

Conduct keyword research and content audits to recommend improvements.

Edit and update provider and location listings, fix broken links, and manage digital assets like images.

Collaborate with the Content Team and the Digital Experience Team including UX designers, SEO analysts, and marketing strategists to improve user experience and content quality.

Help monitor web analytics, SEO, and page performance to identify optimization opportunities.

Provide search result reports, identify solutions, and recommend best practices to improve search ranking, including web content, keyword target lists, page layout, design, linking, and overall site structure.

Participate in editorial processes that maintain consistency across our digital properties.

Represent the web content team where necessary at meetings or presentations.

Minimum Qualifications

Strong writing and editing foundation with excellent grammar and attention to detail.

Interest or introductory knowledge in Search Engine Optimization (SEO), web content strategy, and web accessibility.

Familiarity with content management systems (Drupal, WordPress, or similar).

Introductory knowledge of HTML and digital publishing workflows.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a collaborative team environment.

Preferences

Experience writing for the web with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and user engagement.

Knowledge of health literacy and plain language best practices.

Curiosity and initiative to learn new tools, trends, and digital strategies.
