Job Description Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Visual Media Specialist to join our team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. What does a Graphic Multimedia Specialist do for us? This individual works with mid- to senior company leaders, Corporate Communication staff, internal clients and technical staff to develop innovative multimedia, web-based, interactive and print-based solutions. They also create compelling multimedia material targeting identified internal and external audiences.

Specific job duties include:

Shooting and producing videos, capturing photographs and handling other multimedia communication needs for internal and external audiences, working under general supervision and with Corporate Communication staff, technical staff, and internal clients.

Coordinating and collaborating as needed to create the highest quality visuals to express the Idaho Power brand, meeting all deadlines. Independently brainstorm concepts, locations, and visual direction.

Using digital cameras and editing software (Adobe Suite, Apple Motion, Final Cut Pro) for photography, video, and motion graphics projects.

Recording and editing high-quality audio for use in multimedia productions.

Inputting and maintaining photos in digital asset management resource.

Including metadata and ensuring metadata is used consistently for easy retrieval of images.

Create visual collateral that aligns with company standards including presentations, newsletters, animations, brochures, posters, graphics, advertisements, displays, flyers, and other materials.

Plan, coordinate, and implement complex and creative multimedia, web and print projects

Employ analytical expertise, artistic talent, and technical skill to design and produce effective, dynamic materials

Minimum Requirements Education:

Bachelors degree from accredited college or university in graphic design or related creative field

OR

An equivalent combination of appropriate training and experience

Experience:

5 years professional graphic design, photography, and/or videography experience with a business or agency

License:

Valid Driver’s license with acceptable driving record based on the requirements of the position

Preferred:

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Remote Pilot Certificate

Physical Requirements This position works with the creative design team to produce Idaho Power communication material such as brochures, marketing/promotional materials, displays, online graphics, and presentations. It has both office and field requirements. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. Good manual dexterity is required in creating visual media and graphic materials using scissors and exacto knives at a cutting table. A step ladder or 9-foot ladder is climbed occasionally to create displays. In the office it requires lifting occasionally up to an 18 lb. roll of large format printer paper or team lifting a ladder (19 lbs.). Field work of up to 4 X weekly includes ambulation on avg. up to 1 mile while carrying necessary equipment such as a 10 lb. video camera bag, 10 lb. tripod kit, and a 20 lb. lighting kit. Twice yearly the position ambulates up to 6 miles on trails/hills. Ascent/descent of up to 10 flights of stairs (while carrying up to 30-40 lbs.) is required to occasionally photograph power plants. A 50 lb. dolly/cart is used to carry gear (requiring a 5 lb. push/pull force). The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position.
