Marketing Associate (Annual Giving) Department: Advancement | Development Constituent Fundraising
Position Overview Reporting to the Director, Stewardship & Constituent Engagement, the Marketing Associate oversees the management, development, and implementation of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Health System Annual Giving Program and Annual Donor Journey to help build the College of Veterinary Medicine’s alumni and client donor pipeline. The role manages the multi‑channel annual giving program in collaboration with the Constituent Experiences Strategy team and supports the Advancement team in major gift donations and alumni relations.
The Marketing Associate develops and implements targeted strategies for annual giving donor renewal, acquisition and reacquisition, working with the college’s development and engagement teams to execute campaigns that incorporate direct mail, digital, phone center, and peer‑to‑peer outreach. They serve as the college’s liaison to the Constituent Experiences Strategy team within the Alumni Association and collaborate with the communication team on collateral design for annual giving, major gifts, and alumni engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and serve as the subject‑matter expert on the college’s multi‑channel annual giving program, including donor renewal, acquisition, and reacquisition strategies.
Partner with the Executive Director of Development and the Director, Stewardship & Constituent Engagement to set vision for annual fund efforts, cultivation, and solicitation.
Coordinate with the Constituent Experiences Strategy team to incorporate direct mail, digital, phone center, and peer‑to‑peer outreach into campaigns.
Serve as the college’s liaison to the Constituent Experiences Strategy team within the Alumni Association.
Manage the solicitation calendar, donor relations activities, Grateful Client program, Day of Giving, alumni class gift projects, Buckeye Funder projects, Pet Memorial Program, and other special projects supporting alumni and client engagement.
Handle alumni, grateful client, prospect, and suspect information, data requirements, analysis, and research to support the college’s annual giving efforts.
Collaborate with central annual giving and Advancement reporting colleagues to design and build new reporting tools.
Work with the college’s communication team on collateral material for annual giving, major gifts, and alumni/grateful client engagement.
Manage data, research, and reporting requests from the Advancement team and other college‑level departments to support donor qualification, solicitation, analytics, and event planning.
Serve as a strategic thought partner in stewardship planning related to annual gift appeals, shaping initiatives that celebrate donor impact and encourage continued support.
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 2 years of related experience in annual giving, student philanthropy/engagement, fundraising, donor relations, or stewardship.
Desired Qualifications
Expertise with MS Word and Excel, especially in creating, maintaining, and distributing user‑friendly reports.
Experience with alumni/donor/customer databases, including query tools, data quality control, problem solving, and report generation.
Proven experience developing an annual giving strategy and marketing the importance of philanthropic support.
Skills in driving programming to engage students.
Experience working with specific donor constituencies such as students, parents, or young alumni.
Direct sales or face‑to‑face solicitation experience.

The budget for this position is up to $62,000. The offer will be based on internal equity and the candidate's qualifications.
