For a UN Agency based in Geneva, NTT DATA is currently looking for a
Human Centred Design Specialist
to join the team remotely. This role includes collaboration with project teams to manage user experience and adoption, which may include user journeys, branding, designing user flows, facilitating co‑design sessions, training/coaching, prototyping, and user research.
You will be
responsible
for:
User research - For assigned projects, conduct user research and apply findings to design solutions.
Design strategy - Work with project teams to define design challenges and opportunities, develop a design strategy (may include branding), and design timelines that coordinate with the project workplan.
Collaboration and integration - Work closely with cross‑functional teams and advocate for inclusive and equitable design practices.
Develop prototypes, test, and iterate designs based on user feedback.
Define metrics for user experience and design impact.
Conduct usability testing.
Conduct, document and apply design lessons learned.
Design and facilitate co‑creation workshops.
Build consensus on design priorities based on workshops and research and communicate design rationale, clearly, to non‑design experts.
Coach or train others on design principles, develop materials for sustainable practices.
Actively participate in and contribute to meetings, workshops and other activities carried out by the Project Management Office.
Be a lead advocate for the goals and objectives of the PMO.
For this role you will need to have experience in:
Advanced university degree in Design, Computer Science or relevant fields.
5 to 10 years of relevant experience as UX/UI designer, working with a global user base.
3+ years' experience designing and facilitating in‑person, online, and hybrid co‑creation workshops.
Proven ability to coordinate, manage, and lead successful design decisions in projects across geographical locations.
Proven skills in the areas of UX/UI design, facilitation, workshop design, building trust, and effective communications with non‑design experts.
Demonstrated ability to interact in complex situations involving technical, cultural, and political elements.
Ability to effectively collaborate with teams in an international, multi‑cultural, multi‑disciplinary environment; separated by geographical locations and working under different time‑zones.
Proactive, flexible, resourceful and able to work independently with limited supervision.
Sound analytical and organizational skills.
Expert knowledge in spoken and written English.
Intermediate knowledge of another UN language is desirable, but not mandatory.
Expertise in industry standard UX software i.e., Figma.
Prior experience working with WHO or another UN agency.
Portfolio of design projects.
