The Recycled Materials Association (ReMA) represents more than 1,700 companies in the U.S. and around the globe who play a critical part in providing recycled materials to America’s manufacturing industries.

Based in Washington, D.C., we promote safe, economically sustainable, and environmentally responsible recycling through education, networking, and advocacy.

The Graphic Designer is responsible for developing visually compelling materials that advance ReMA’s mission and support member engagement and organizational goals.

This role contributes to multi‑channel communications efforts that educate, inform, and influence key audiences—including members, prospective members, industry stakeholders, policymakers at all levels, and media—through strategic and brand‑aligned design.

The Graphic Designer is a visual communicator who blends creativity with purpose.

The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, brings a sharp eye for detail and brand alignment, and is equally confident developing high‑level design strategies and executing polished deliverables that elevate ReMA’s mission and voice.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Leads design projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with ReMA’s brand and strategic goals.

Develops visual assets for digital and print platforms, including advertisements, brochures, websites, social media, and event collateral.

Partners with internal teams to translate messaging into engaging visual formats.

Maintains ReMA’s media resource library, including templates, photo/video content, and design collateral.

Upholds brand standards and ensures consistency across all materials.

Collaborates with copywriters, editors, videographers, and other colleagues to ensure cohesive project outcomes.

Presents design concepts and prototypes to internal teams and member companies for feedback and approval.

Attends industry events as needed to support communications and design initiatives.

Maintains and updates departmental SOPs.

Preferred Education / Skills

Bachelor’s degree required; plus at least five years experience in graphic design or related field.

Demonstrated ability to develop high‑impact visual content across platforms, balancing artistic innovation with strategic alignment to organizational goals.

Skilled in cross‑functional teamwork and verbal articulation of brand messaging to internal and external stakeholders; thrives in dynamic, mission‑driven environments.

Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines with precision, and adapting to evolving priorities and design styles.

Strong attention to detail in maintaining organized design files and media assets; proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools.

Working Conditions

Salary range for this position is between $75,000 - $90,000.

This position operates in a professional office setting designed to support productivity, collaboration, and employee well‑being.
