The Senior Design-Build Coordinator is expected to work with minimal supervision, lead coordination meetings, and proactively identify and resolve design or constructability challenges. Provide the link between the build team (GC and Subcontractors) and the designer to ensure a highly efficient design with minimal field modifications.
Responsibilities Pursuit & Preconstruction Phase
Coordinate design partners, estimators, and proposal teams during RFP and pursuit phases.
Develop and manage design scopes, budgets, and schedules with the Pursuit team.
Review preliminary designs and technical documents for compliance and constructability.
Support the development of technical proposals, innovations, and ATCs.
Participate in client and stakeholder meetings for design presentations and clarifications.
Design Development & Coordination
Act as primary liaison between design teams and OHLA USA’s construction staff.
Monitor design progress, submittals, and approvals to meet project milestones.
Lead coordination meetings to resolve interdisciplinary design issues.
Manage design reviews to ensure compliance with contracts, regulatory, and quality standards.
Drive constructability and value engineering efforts with input from estimating and field teams.
Proactively identify and mitigate design risks.
Construction Phase Support
Coordinate design clarifications, revisions, and change requests with project teams.
Ensure design changes are documented, approved, and implemented.
Communicate with design consultants on field issues and as-built documentation.
Attend coordination meetings with clients, designers, and subcontractors.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture , or a related discipline.
10 - 15 years
of progressive experience in
design-build
or
EPC project delivery , preferably with a general contractor or design-builder.
Strong understanding of
engineering design principles ,
construction means and methods , and
contractual relationships
in design-build delivery.
Experience working on
transportation or heavy civil infrastructure
projects
Proficiency with coordination and design management tools such as
Bluebeam, BIM 360, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks , P6 and
MS Project .
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple design disciplines and stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or pursuit of licensure preferred.
