Shift

Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 6:00 pm. Flexible hours for breaking news coverage outside of regular shift.

Job Summary The primary responsibility of this position is to anchor NPR’s “Morning Edition”. Assist WUKY New Director with podcast production, editing and publication and to be a WUKY general news reporter. Major job responsibilities include news reporting, news anchor, and assist production of podcast.

Responsibilities

Anchor NPR’s “Morning Edition” and provide high-quality audio content.

Produce, edit, and publish WUKY podcasts and news segments.

Report news stories and cover breaking events as required.

Collaborate with staff on programming decisions and scheduling.

Requirements

BA in Journalism, Broadcasting, or related field.

2 years of experience in radio or podcast production.

Proficiency with radio broadcast equipment, ENG gear, and AP newswire.

Strong editorial and storytelling skills.

MS Office and good editing software (Cook Edit or equivalent).

Ability to work flexible hours and travel within campus.

Preferred Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or Radio/Television Broadcasting.
