We are seeking an experienced Layout Artist to join the team for SPINE, our story‑driven action game. SPINE is a cinematic experience filled with chases, gunfights, hand‑to‑hand combat, and deep character moments. To achieve the high level of visual style and cinematic language we're aiming for, we need an expert in 3D camera work to help bring our vision to life.
In this role, you'll be instrumental in shaping the look and feel of our cutscenes and action sequences. You will work closely with directors, writers, animators, and game designers to build dynamic camera movements, maintain cinematic composition, and ensure the visual cohesion of the narrative.
What You'll Be Doing
Camera Work: Set up complex camera paths and movements within 3D scenes to create a cinematic look.
Scene Blocking: Prepare cameras and assets, and block out scenes to establish staging and pacing.
Pipeline Management: Organize scenes and assets to ensure a clean, efficient pipeline for animators and other team members.
Creative Collaboration: Work with a cross‑functional team to translate storyboards and previs into final visual sequences.
What We're Looking For
In‑depth knowledge of Autodesk Maya and excellent problem‑solving skills.
A strong understanding of the animation and film production pipeline.
Expertise in cinematography within a virtual environment.
Experience with real‑world camera work, shooting techniques, and knowledge of lenses.
Proven experience setting up scenes based on storyboards or previs.
Exceptional technical problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and fixing issues.
Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for scene and frame composition.
The ability to take direction and feedback effectively from a supervisor.
Skills and competencies show up in different forms and can be based on different experiences, so we strongly encourage you to apply even if you don't have all the requirements listed above.
