This role is Bangkok-based, relocation provided. Getting to know our Agoda Design Team: Embark on a journey with the Agoda Design Team, a vibrant community of product designers crafting innovative solutions from Bangkok, Thailand, and Gurugram, India. As a pivotal force in our product-driven company, we collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to unravel customer challenges, shaping workflows, interactions, and visual interfaces. About Our Consumer Facing Team Our Consumer Facing Design Team is at the forefront of creating exceptional travel experiences across Hotel Accommodations, Homes, Reviews, Content & Localization. We’re on a mission to craft a cutting-edge booking platform prioritizing choice, value, user-friendliness, and personalization for our customers booking across our platform.
Responsibilities
Manage scope of work for your team and determine how to divide work amongst designers.
Lead design strategy for complex initiatives and grow design leaders.
Drive design alignment with business objectives and measurement on core product initiatives.
Ensure successful execution by addressing questions, bottlenecks, dependencies, and conflicts with stakeholders.
Maintain and apply a process for effective design.
Build and maintain a healthy, high-performing team; hire designers to fill open headcount; foster a positive culture.
Coach and mentor direct reports to grow in their careers.
Lead projects to define and sell a coherent long-term vision with milestones and actions.
Represent the team upwards, ensuring priorities are understood and advocating for the team.
Partner with design leadership to shape management practices and mentor other design leaders.
Qualifications & Qualities
Track record leading design strategy for complex initiatives and growing design leaders.
Ability to lead through ambiguity and align senior leaders around a vision and approach.
Holistic thinking to identify customer experience opportunities with cross-organizational impact.
Experience mentoring design leaders and shaping management practices.
Knowledge of current native technologies and design patterns to guide the team.
Strong articulation of ideas and design solutions; kindness and candor in feedback; tolerance for ambiguity; translation of insights into design decisions.
