Project Manager – Urban Planning and Design

Location: San Antonio, TX – hybrid work‑from‑home/remote and in‑office schedule with flexibility.
Responsibilities
Collaborative Teammate: Work as part of a cross‑office, cross‑discipline team creating designs and plans for neighborhoods, districts and communities across Texas and the United States.
Project Management: Lead and participate in teams, create bold, innovative, and equitable planning solutions. Build and maintain strong client relationships through networking, proposal preparation, and interview participation.
Project Work: Provide overarching project direction; oversee work products; manage sub‑consultants and client teams; develop and oversee scopes, budgets, and schedules; produce high‑quality planning documents; maintain client relationships; represent clients at public hearings and meetings.
Project Types: Citywide comprehensive plans, small area plans, neighborhood plans, downtown plans, housing strategies, parks and recreation system plans, and inclusive community engagement using online tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in planning, urban design, landscape architecture, public policy, geography, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Relevant consulting experience in planning or a closely related field and experience producing plan documents.
Demonstrated project‑management experience in the private sector, including scopes, budgets, schedules, and client partnership.
Ability to prepare and deliver public presentations, lead working meetings, and facilitate client and stakeholder meetings.
Knowledge of design, planning and equity, with the ability to build collaborative relationships with community members and partners.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; graphic and document development desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ArcGIS/ArcPro, and Adobe InDesign required; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and/or SketchUp a plus.
Experience in marketing and business development, proposal development, and client relationship building.
Local or willing to relocate to San Antonio.
Bonus: Bilingual in Spanish or other non‑English languages.
Benefits Full‑time, hourly position with eligibility for overtime. Pay range $35–45 per hour, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits include paid time off, 10 paid holidays, medical, dental, vision, FSA, HRA with employer contributions, and 401(k) matching.
