The University of Florida Veterinary Hospitals is seeking a motivated and creative Marketing and Outreach Assistant to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain meaningful, hands‑on experience in a dynamic environment while contributing directly to impactful marketing and outreach initiatives.
Job Duties
Content Development:
Create and edit materials for newsletters, websites, and social media platforms. Interact with staff, clients, and patients to gather stories, testimonials, and information that resonate with the target audience. Strong writing, editing, attention to detail, and the ability to present engaging content are required.
Outreach:
Support relationship‑building efforts with referring veterinarians by developing communications, fulfilling information and material requests, and coordinating annual appreciation campaigns. Excellent communication skills, initiative, and industry knowledge are essential.
Event Planning and Coordination:
Assist with event logistics such as promotion, invitation coordination, material preparation (programs, name badges, etc.), budget monitoring, and smooth execution. Manage event registration, vendor relationships, and timeline maintenance. Strong organizational and time‑management skills are required.
Schedule Up to 20 hours per week during regular business hours, generally Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend availability required for events.
Compensation $18.00 hourly
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree and at least one year of appropriate experience in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in veterinary marketing and/or outreach.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud.
Photography and videography experience.
