Job Description Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering seeks to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position in Computer or Electrical Engineering with focus on Computer Networks and Communications beginning August 2026. Candidates expected to have doctoral degree and excellent potential and dedication to teaching, research, service, and professional activities.
Responsibilities
Teach three courses per semester in engineering and engineering technology related to computer engineering; may change based on departmental needs.
Opportunities to teach innovative general education and interdisciplinary courses.
Active scholarly research agenda with peer-reviewed publications, presentations, or other professional accomplishments expected for successful tenure and promotion.
Service to department, college, and university includes advising students, contributing to student recruitment and retention, advising student capstone projects, and participating in program accreditation.
Demonstrate commitment to inclusive excellence, fostering a vibrant campus community where every student, staff member, and faculty colleague feels empowered to flourish.
Required Qualifications
Earned doctorate in Computer Engineering or related discipline required; ABDs considered providing degree completion date.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching computer engineering or related engineering disciplines at undergraduate level.
Potential to build independent research program related to computer networks and communications that includes undergraduate students.
Potential to educate and mentor students from diverse backgrounds.
Experience and/or interest in course and curriculum development.
Experience and/or interest in student recruitment, retention, and career preparation.
Applied and/or professional experience in computer networks and communications with Cisco Certification.
