Job Description Under the direction of the supervisor and in alignment with established IT Communication practices and policies, key project management responsibilities include.
Project Planning and Monitoring : Assisting managers and technical leadership in creating and maintaining project plans, monitoring progress, measuring success, and disseminating project information to stakeholders for transparency and alignment.
Resource Development : Collaborating with Communications Group managers to identify resource needs, ensuring projects are completed on time while maintaining efficiency.
Contractor Coordination : Working closely with contractors to ensure compliance with University standards and that contracted groups perform as required to meet project objectives.
Personnel Supervision : Supervising designated personnel as required to ensure effective team performance and adherence to project goals.
Responsibilities
Implement and coordinate multiple OIT Telecommunications systems
Collaborate in planning, research, & installation of Communications systems
Analyze current projects and provide solutions to problems
Identify network & communications requirements for existing and new construction
Conduct design meetings with Architects, designers and departments on campus
Qualifications Required Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma, technical certifications
Experience:
2 years' experience as an IT Project manager
5 years experience in the telecommunications industry with experience managing IT projects such as data wiring, fiber optics, 802.11(x) wireless, construction, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of Telecommunications Construction
Advanced Communication Skills
Intermediate analytical and technological skills
Advanced ability to manage priorities and organizational skills
Ability to build relationships with co-workers and users
Ability to learn new skills or techniques
Advanced ability to take initiative
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor Degree
Project Management Professional Certification
Experience:
5 years of field experience in the design, installation and maintenance of communications infrastructure including construction discipline for IT infrastructure.

About The Division Office of Innovative Technologies, Communications Group provides IT layer 1 infrastructure including copper and fiber optic infrastructure. Services include telephony, classroom technology, digital signage, IPTV, CCTV installation and maintenance, 400 Mhz radios and cellular DAS.
