The Field Media Services Technician II leads field crews in servicing air and water treatment systems in industrial and construction settings. Responsibilities include installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of water treatment equipment at customer locations, contributing to environments that clean contaminated water and provide safe drinking water. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Represent Newterra in a professional and courteous manner. Prepare for and execute carbon exchange services. Travel to site via vehicle or air, including driving company vehicle and towing required equipment. Travel to various job sites in a company provided vehicle. Drive and position trucks loaded with equipment under 26,000 lbs. Position and connect hoses and equipment. Operate truck mounted and skid mounted vacuum systems. Communicate with technicians, contractors and project managers. Promote Newterra’s services for repeat site visits and routine maintenance. Conduct onsite operator training. Provide technical support for operating systems and equipment. Establish and maintain respectful working relationships with clients as a reliable and knowledgeable resource. Diagnose mechanical and electrical equipment failures and determine proper solutions. Ensure all schedules are met and set expectations early as risks are identified. Issue commissioning reports per the company defined process. Warehouse duties including general maintenance, unloading and storing inventory, handling spent medias, assembly, shipping and receiving. Other Duties And Responsibilities
Describe operation of water systems to customers and participate in technical training. Adhere to company policies and contribute ideas for continuous improvement. Complete all assigned training applicable to the position within the required timeframe. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workspace. Perform duties safely and promote safety to others per Newterra’s policies. Report safety concerns and incidents promptly. Complete responsibilities while adhering to Newterra’s Delegation of Authority. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, technical trade certificate, electrician, millwright, or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years old for entry onto job sites; valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle. Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Valid passport for travel as needed. DOT physical requirements; ability to wear respirators (half-face and full-face APR). Drug & Alcohol screen required. Preferred but not required: CDL-A Driver’s License Vacuum Truck Experience OSHA certifications and confined space training Experience operating forklifts and aerial lifts (scissor lifts, manlifts, etc.) Understanding of PLC programming and HMI logic (Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, Schneider, Honeywell) Water treatment process knowledge (Media, MBR, RO, UF, Chemical Systems, etc.) Experience with installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial equipment (piping, valves, pumps, etc.) 3-5 years’ experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience with independent travel Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Motivated self-starter with result-driven approach Proven mechanical aptitude Ability to travel Monday – Friday, including overnight, and some weekends as needed Active listening and ability to follow directions Detail oriented with problem-solving and timeline management Strong decision-making skills Ability to work collaboratively with others Positive attitude with a desire for growth and success Excellent customer service skills Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs Physical Demands
Stooping, bending, kneeling, crawling, standing, walking, or sitting for long periods. Visual, auditory, and tactile awareness. Use of hands to control and operate equipment. Lift up to 55 lbs. Work in tight or confined spaces and elevated surfaces. Wear respirators and protective clothing in hot or cold conditions. Adjust controls of equipment as needed. Work Environment
Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, extreme temperatures, dust and noisy environments. Field work at outdoor and indoor sites, long hours, confined spaces, and working from heights. Use of power tools and heavy equipment including forklifts and aerial lifts. Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals.
