Join Baytown’s Parks & Recreation team as our next Promotions Coordinator, where you’ll design, develop, implement, and track effective promotions for community events like farmers markets, music festivals, children’s activities, and public facilities. You’ll lead digital and print campaigns, manage social media content, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, and ensure consistent branding and timely delivery of ads and collateral. If you're a creative self-starter with strong organizational skills, a bachelor’s in marketing/communications, and experience in event promotion, come help us elevate Baytown’s community experiences! As a representative of the City, the Promotions Coordinator will be responsible for promoting and marketing Baytown by designing, developing, implementing, and tracking tourism and recreation marketing activities including special events such as farmers markets, music festivals, children’s activities, corporate events, charity events, water park events, and leisure programming. This position involves creating promotional materials, advertisements, internet content, and collateral, and managing all advertising and marketing for Baytown tourism efforts. We seek a team member who is enthusiastic, organized, and capable of working independently and collaboratively. Responsibilities include: Developing and posting marketing campaigns primarily on the city’s website, Facebook, and other social media platforms. Exploring additional advertising channels to promote services and events. Collaborating with traditional media sales reps (radio, newspapers) to initiate marketing campaigns. Managing all advertising and marketing efforts for Baytown tourism, including selecting appropriate media such as newspapers, magazines, and vendors. Creating and executing marketing plans and promotional materials; analyzing response to visitor inquiries. Planning marketing strategies to benefit local hotel and tourist industries; identifying marketing opportunities regionally. Working with vendors to ensure marketing materials are accurate and produced according to specifications, and monitoring deadlines and inventory. Processing invoices related to marketing activities and monitoring the marketing budget to ensure expenditures stay within limits across all programs and events. Assisting in the development and execution of special events and programs as needed. Performing other duties as assigned. Required qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism, Recreation, Tourism and Parks Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution. Effective oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Adobe and Canva design software. Intermediate to advanced experience with social media applications. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver’s license within 90 days). Or An equivalent combination of education, experience, certifications, and/or licenses sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Preferred qualifications: Master’s Degree or Certified Parks and Recreation Professional. Three years of relevant experience. Experience with digital marketing platforms such as Meta Business Suite/Ads Manager, Google Adwords. Experience with email marketing platforms like Aweber, Constant Contact, Mail Chimp. Experience working with volunteers. Bilingual abilities in Spanish, Vietnamese, or American Sign Language. Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently and with various staff, and adapt quickly. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, professionalism, and the ability to work well with the public and co-workers are essential.
