Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree or higher, in Business or Public Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field and two (2) years of marketing, public relations, mass communications, or promotion of public programs experience; Or six (6) years of marketing, public relations, mass communications, or promotion of public programs experience.
Licenses and Certificates Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state by time of appointment.
Responsibilities
Under general supervision, lead, plan and coordinate the implementation of marketing initiatives, programs, and events that actively promote the organization's goals and objectives.
Plan, develop, and coordinate marketing and outreach programs that align with the City of El Paso's goals, priorities, and initiatives. Lead initiatives to develop and implement strategies and programs to promote the City. Assist in developing annual marketing strategies that support communications initiatives. Develop and lead the implementation of effective communications programs utilizing a variety of media tools.
Coordinate with the City to create visual designs for web application, media advertisements, and marketing collateral materials. Assist in developing and implementing marketing programs that promote related events, such as quarterly/annual meetings, or offsite industry related conferences and trade shows. Consult with City Manager's office to assist with department press releases for print, radio, television and social media, and the creation and distribution of email campaigns.
Provide development of strategic relationships, new initiatives, and innovative solutions for furthering the organization's mission. Work with partner organizations throughout the region on coordinating marketing and outreach efforts regarding the City's goals and objectives. Assist with preparing and responding to media requests by setting up press briefings. Prepare and respond to requests for information from partner organizations, Council representatives, and other officials as required.
Assist with special projects as assigned. Assist with the planning of marketing and social media projects to assure project goals and objectives are meet. Maintain databases and established goal-tracking. Correlate and assess data and recommend strategies on outreach program initiatives. Maintain website and update content. Prepare and present reports to provide timely and accurate information. Perform other related duties as assigned.
