Pay $10 per hour

Work Schedule 15-20 hours per week, depending on office needs. We are open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Job Summary A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties

Assist with creating, editing, and sending recruitment and event emails to prospective students

Perform data entry and record updates in the admissions' CRM system (Slate)

Help prepare and process outgoing mailings and promotional materials

Provide administrative support for the Admissions Communications team as needed

Collaborate with staff and other student workers to ensure high-quality, timely work

Required Education High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and proofreading

Experience with Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, Excel, and Word)

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Interest in communications, marketing, public relations, or higher education

Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team

Positive, professional attitude when working with staff, students, and campus partners

Willingness to learn new systems and processes (training provided)

Physical Requirements

Ability to remain in a stationary position.

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.

Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
