Job Summary The Graduate Assistant will oversee Richards College social media platforms and help plan events. The graduate student will complete tasks with limited oversight and work closely with the Director of Marketing & Events.
Key Responsibilities
Support, plan, and execute social media plans (60%): engage students on all platforms, create visual designs, write stories and press releases, organize photo shoots, update brochures/newsletters, and adhere to university communication guidelines.
Work with campus partners to increase efficiencies (20%): serve as an educator to departments on marketing standards and streamline communication requests with University Communications & Marketing.
Event support (20%): plan, reserve, set up, and dismantle events; attend and assist with university and departmental events, showcase days, alumni events; perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Currently accepted into a UWG graduate degree program (provisional acceptance not sufficient).
Graduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
Excellent writing and grammar skills.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Eligible for employment in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
Enrollment in a Richards College graduate program.
Demonstrated knowledge of graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, InDesign).

Assist with indoor and outdoor events, including physical set‑up and teardown.
Perform physical labor up to 25 pounds.
Maintain communication without restriction.
Hold a valid driver’s license.
