Young-Williams Animal Center (YWAC) exists to end pet homelessness, promote animal welfare, and enhance the human–animal bond. The Opportunity YWAC seeks a creative and organized Marketing Manager who is passionate about storytelling, community engagement, and campaigns that drive measurable impact. The ideal candidate is both imaginative and detail-oriented, able to transform data and experiences into compelling stories that elevate our mission and inspire generosity, adoption, and advocacy.
This role is perfect for a strategic communicator and strong writer who thrives in a collaborative environment, balancing big-picture strategy with hands‑on content creation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of strategic marketing and communications plans that advance YWAC’s mission and brand.
Design and implement creative campaigns to boost adoption, fundraising, and community engagement.
Craft compelling stories and content for press releases, newsletters, social media, and donor communications.
Oversee and manage all digital platforms: website, email marketing, and social media, with help from staff, to ensure consistent and engaging messaging.
Collaborate with the CEO, Development team, and PR partners to align marketing efforts with fundraising goals.
Manage media relations, including proactive story pitching, press inquiries, and crisis communication.
Plan and promote special events such as Mardi Growl and other fundraising initiatives.
Track, analyze, and report on marketing metrics including engagement, reach, and conversion.
Represent YWAC at public events, community meetings, and speaking engagements.
Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or public relations (nonprofit or animal welfare experience a plus).
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a portfolio of campaign or content examples.
Demonstrated success leading marketing campaigns from concept to completion.
Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
Experience with social media management, digital analytics, and brand consistency.
Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and content management systems preferred.
Collaborative spirit, curiosity, and a love for creativity and animals.
