Develops layout and design drawings from architectural drawings or sketches provided to the company. Communicates with building designers or professionals to obtain or clarify information shown on drawings. Generates placement plans, identifying the location of the individual designs. May obtain information about products that have been field modified or damaged; information summarized for a professional engineer to evaluate and complete repair drawings when required. Analyzes technical data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. Confers with technical and other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required. Analyzes plans and diagrams to determine material processing specifications or construction requirements. Writes technical descriptions specifying material qualities and properties. Draws rough sketches or arranges for finished drawings or photographs to illustrate specified materials or assembly sequence. Interested in hearing more?
