Overview Service Technician in our Technology Solutions group specializing in audiovisual systems and structured cabling. Proficiency in one key area is essential; additional disciplines can be trained. Requires strong troubleshooting skills, adaptability and cross‑system collaboration.

Compensation Hourly rate: $32.00 – $50.00, based on experience.

General Responsibilities

Uphold Encore Electric’s core values with safety and professionalism.

Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair systems across multiple disciplines.

Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment cleanly and organized.

Communicate job progress, scheduling, and scope changes to the Service Supervisor.

Represent Encore Electric professionally to clients, fostering positive relationships.

Be flexible with schedules, shifts, and locations, including participation in on‑call rotation (24/7 for a one‑week period each month).

Discipline‑Specific Responsibilities Audiovisual Systems

Install and troubleshoot AV systems: displays, projectors, speakers, control systems (e.g., QSC, Crestron, Extron, Bi‑amp). Some programming preferred.

Install and configure conference room systems: Microsoft Teams rooms, Zoom Rooms, and related systems.

Preferred: 3–4 years of AV technician experience.

Telecom

Install and terminate telecom cabling, including copper and fiber optics.

Test and certify cabling and connections.

Familiarity with telecom tools and practices.

Preferred: 3–4 years as a telecom technician.

Security Systems

Install and troubleshoot security systems: access control, IP video, intrusion detection.

Test, commission, and verify system functionality.

Preferred: 3–4 years as a security technician.

Building Automation Systems (BAS)

Diagnose and maintain automation systems, including HVAC and VAV.

Install controllers, wiring, and field devices per project specifications.

Preferred: 3–4 years as a BAS technician.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Technical expertise in the relevant system(s) of focus.

Ability to read technical documents: blueprints, one‑liners, specifications.

Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and time‑management skills.

Excellent communication with clients, vendors, and team members.

Physical Requirements

Lift up to 50 lbs, climb, stand, and stoop as required.

Vision acuity near and far; color deficiencies acceptable.

Requirements

At least 3–4 years of experience in a specific relevant discipline.

Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor‑vehicle record.

Willingness to continue learning and developing in the field.
