Overview
HVAC Layout Designer role at Bechtel Corporation in Knoxville, TN. This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules are determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. Major Responsibilities
3D modeling of HVAC Duct and equipment in S3D Preparation of drawings/documents for General Arrangements, HVAC orthographic drawings Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, including input and interference reconciliation Ensure compliance with approved PD&P design standards in own work and by those assigned to provide quality design Ensure PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards Review and check calculations, design models, drawings and design documents Interface with support engineers, construction, and suppliers during the preparation of 3D model and drawings for model/space control Take responsibility for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline Collaborate with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements Education And Experience Requirements
AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 3-4 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge And Skills
Must be a US citizen Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check including verification of employment, education and travel Hands-on experience using SmartPlant S3D modeling platform (preferred) Understanding of various HVAC system types, components, equipment and control systems Knowledge of national building codes and an understanding of ASHRAE standards Knowledge and understanding of the use of P&IDs Total Rewards/Benefits
