About the Role We are seeking Distribution Designers at various experience levels to join our team supporting utility projects for major clients in the region. This role involves designing and preparing electrical distribution layouts for overhead and underground systems, ensuring compliance with client standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed design packages for electric distribution systems (overhead and underground).
Interpret utility standards, construction specifications, and engineering drawings.
Perform site assessments (virtual or field visits as needed) to gather design data.
Utilize design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS platforms).
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field crews to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
Maintain documentation and adhere to safety and quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
Experience in electric distribution design for utility companies (Dominium Energy experience strongly preferred).
Familiarity with NESC, local codes, and utility-specific standards.
Proficiency in design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
Preferred by Level:
Entry-Level:
1–2 years of relevant experience or technical degree in electrical engineering or related field.
Mid-Level:
3–5 years of distribution design experience; ability to work independently.
Senior-Level:
9+ years of experience; strong knowledge of utility standards; ability to mentor junior designers.
Compensation $52,000 - $83,000/year (varying ranges and pay bands).
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
