The ideal candidate will have 3-8 years of related work experience. Experience with mechanical equipment and piping layout/design in the Power Generation industry is required. Proficiency with electronic design tools (CAD/BIM) is required, including Bentley OpenPlant Modeler for piping isometrics and fabrication models. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days based on manager discretion, job performance and work assignments. Minimum Qualifications:

Engineering Standards:
Apply knowledge of standards, document control, codes and Black & Veatch policies; determine correct deliverable formats from project requirements. Quality / Continuous Improvement:
Apply Black & Veatch Quality Program; ensure accuracy and support continuous improvement; review design inputs for consistency and compliance with codes and standards. Engineering Production:
Develop moderately complex design concepts and deliverables; perform design calculations, material quantities and estimates; review deliverables; define work assignments and schedules; may program control systems or participate in start-up activities. Project Coordination:
Coordinate with design group and support field activities as needed. Client Focus:
Address internal client needs while understanding external client drivers. Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology:
Share knowledge of latest technologies and processes; apply judgment to deliverables. Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Diploma or Certificate; Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology; typically 5 years related work experience. Preferred Non-Technical Skills:
Learning on the Fly, Problem Solving, Perseverance, Patience, Time Management, Drive for Results, Self Development, Listening, Informing. Preferred Technical Skills:
Proficiency with CAD/BIM tools; knowledge of engineering standards, document control, quality programs; basic construction and constructability knowledge; basic procurement and contract administration. Work Environment / Benefits
