Position Summary McCarthy is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a full‑time Crew Focused Associate position focused on Civil Design within our Renewable Energy group. A successful candidate will create construction documents and details, using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Revit, to support the project teams. The preferred candidate will have a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow in their career.

Key Responsibilities

Create site‑specific civil and SWPPP details, drawings and supporting documents using AutoCAD, Civil 3 D, and Revit.

Read and interpret basic civil report results (e.g., Geotech, Hydrology, Environmental).

Incorporate survey data/surfaces, topographic maps, and geotechnical reports into site designs.

Perform quantity takeoffs and basic calculations (cut/fill, slope, BMP quantity, etc.) to support estimates and material planning.

Apply civil/SWPPP best‑management practices.

Assist in developing construction drawings and deliverables under the supervision of senior designers.

Work with engineers, project managers, and designers to ensure designs meet regulatory and project requirements.

Coordinate design changes based on engineering and project team feedback.

Communicate technical aspects of a project with other disciplines in the department.

Read and interpret construction drawings, documents, and calculations regarding civil.

Support the broader team in evaluating new technologies to increase design efficiency.

Produce internal reference documents and standards guidelines working with a team.

Skills & Qualifications

4‑year Civil Engineering Degree or 2‑year degree with 2 years of on‑the‑job experience.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3 D, and Revit.

Familiarity with setting up sheets and views in Civil 3 D and Revit.

Knowledge of the Fundamentals of Engineering, civil‑related code books, and ability to read and navigate them.

Understanding of civil site design principles (grading, drainage, erosion control).

General knowledge of construction and civil engineering theories, principles, processes, and plans.

Experience reviewing a wide variety of construction and civil engineering documents.

Ability to use Microsoft Office products.

Solid interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment.

Willingness to learn and adapt, and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment requiring strong work ethic.

Experience with site planning or land development is helpful but not required.

Fundamentals of Engineering license preferred but not required.
