Overview
START A CAREER IN COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT WITHOUT PRIOR HOA EXPERIENCE! We seek positive and motivated professionals who want to make a complete career change to property and HOA community management. We do not require prior experience as our education program will provide an industry-leading foundation. The initial training will take one year, and you will be an industry expert in three years. Mentors will provide real-life support to advance your skill set. The education in community management will serve you in future roles within our company or in external career progression. Typical background could be from retail, restaurants, hospitality, administrative roles, department managers, office management, operations, and more. Candidates should have 8 to 10 years of professional experience in roles requiring proactive effort and decisions. Skills in customer service, administration, communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, insurance, budgets, financials, legal matters, and vendor management are helpful. The community manager is the face of our organization. It is a multi-faceted role where you wear many hats: a liaison between the HOA board, homeowners, and vendors. You will demonstrate ownership in completing tasks and projects, be a customer service champion, manage vendor relationships, and operate your portfolio of communities while maintaining a positive attitude. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Responsibilities include: Live our Same Day Response Policy Engage with board members and homeowners Manage daily, weekly, and monthly tasks for a portfolio of associations Plan for and facilitate board meetings and annual meetings Vendor relations, including bidding and project management Consult with other departments in support of your communities Risk management, insurance, and litigation support Prepare budgets and manage association finances Must be available for after-hour emergencies Plus other tasks as necessary What Does It Take to Be a Great Community Manager?
You need a customer-centric positive attitude, extreme ownership, teamwork, coachability, organization, accountability, and the ability to multitask. What Skills Are Needed?
We will teach you HOA operations, but the following skills are desirable: Approximately 8+ years of solid work experience Ability to attend or run evening meetings (about 30-40 per year) High-level organizational skills in a fast-paced environment Experience with Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Ability to learn other business computer systems Strong customer-friendly and informative communication Experience with financial statements and budgets Comfortable with public speaking in small and large meetings Great conflict management skills in stressful situations Experience gathering bids for large projects and managing those projects Training
