Job Details Mechanical Designer role at Guernsey – join our team of changemakers in the AEC industry. You’ll collaborate with engineers, architects, and consultants on game‑changing projects, delivering innovative mechanical solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop mechanical system designs, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.

Prepare construction documents including plans, sections, details, and schedules using Revit and AutoCAD.

Perform equipment selection and layout coordination with architectural and structural disciplines.

Assist in load calculations, energy modeling inputs, and system sizing.

Conduct site visits to gather field data and support construction administration.

Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to support project delivery.

Maintain awareness of project timelines and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met.

Support QA/QC processes and implement feedback to improve design accuracy and quality.

What You Bring To The Team

Associate degree or technical diploma in mechanical design or drafting (bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred).

5+ years of mechanical design experience in the AEC industry.

Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD required; familiarity with Navisworks and Bluebeam a plus.

Understanding of mechanical building systems and construction processes.

Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, ICC, etc.).

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Essential Physical Functions

Sit/stand at a desk or computer.

Walk, stoop, stand and move around job sites.

Travel and occasional site visits requiring stooping, standing, and lifting up to 30 lbs.

Frequent communication via phone, video, or in‑person meetings.

Ability to focus on digital and paper‑based information for extended periods.

Some project‑based travel may be required.
