Product Designer, Senior Associate Level
Capital One is seeking a Product Designer to join the Card Platforms & Data team. The role will partner with business teams representing Card Data, Models, Decisioning, and Credit. Designers will be experienced in design systems and comfortable defining new components within an ambiguous, highly technical space involving raw data, models, and internal associate‑facing platforms. The experience design team values collaboration, authenticity, and belonging. Role Expectations
Combine craft expertise with an understanding of customers and business to co‑create innovative solutions to complex problems.
Leverage strong product design understanding to elevate the practice at Capital One; use tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems to create artifacts such as journey maps, blueprints, high‑fidelity designs, and prototypes.
Use data, research insights, and creative problem‑solving to support customer‑centered design decisions across projects.
Understand product, processes, and partner goals to bridge gaps between customer centered solutions and business needs.
Gather feedback, understand technical and data capabilities, and emerging technologies to inform your work and navigate technical limitations.
Build relationships with cross‑functional partners and continuously identify collaboration opportunities, incorporating diverse perspectives to elevate project work and build trust.
Present work to diverse audiences using a human‑centered approach, incorporating meaningful evidence and effectively articulating decisions.
Basic Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience in a Product Design role.
At least 2 years of experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with an established design system.
Experience collaborating with product, tech, and business partners.
Experience working in heavily regulated, data heavy problem spaces.
Compensation McLean, VA: $109,000 - $124,400 for Sr. Associate, Design New York, NY: $118,900 - $135,700 for Sr. Associate, Design Richmond, VA: $99,100 - $113,100 for Sr. Associate, Design Salary ranges for other locations are subject to local market and offered at hire.
