Simkhai is searching for an Assistant Tech Designer to support the Technical Design team across tech pack creation, fittings, and sample management to ensure accurate specs, consistent fit, and on-time delivery.
Responsibilities
Build and update tech packs with construction details, specs, callouts, and fit notes.
Compile the daily fit list; prep samples and documentation for fittings.
Participate in live model fittings across all sample stages; capture and distribute comments.
Coordinate inbound/outbound fit samples; track status and follow-ups daily.
Partner with patternmakers and technical designers to identify and resolve fit and construction issues.
Update WIP reports with current tech pack and style status.
Maintain an organized sample library and archives.
Qualifications
Must have minimum 1–2 years of experience in Technical Design or a related apparel role (internships included).
Must have demonstrated understanding of fit, fabric, trims, and points of measure; working knowledge of tailoring and construction.
Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator (specs/technical sketches), Photoshop, and Excel (spec sheets, tracking).
Must have an A.A. or B.A. in Fashion or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Familiarity with PLM systems and garment measurement standards is a plus.
Must be detail‑obsessed and highly organized; must have excellent time management.
Must have clear written and verbal communication.
Must be a team player with a proactive, problem‑solving mindset and positive attitude.
Must be eager to learn and jump in where needed.
