If you meet these qualifications, we want to meet you!
Bachelor's Degree in Music with a concentration in Music Therapy and/or AMTA-approved program
Board Certified as Music Therapist (MT-BC) by CBMT
2 years of full-time experience as a Music Therapist in a healthcare setting
Must hold the highest level of licensure in the state, if applicable
Approved AMTA Intern Supervisor status
Advanced HPMT certification status
Must have reliable automobile, valid driver’s license and minimum state required auto insurance
Responsibilities
Complete the music therapy assessment with patient and family when referred in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care
Plan music therapy interventions
Guide the patient in the use of creative therapeutic activities to improve or maintain mental and physical function and quality of life
Evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy services with the patient and/or family
Provide in-services to staff, hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities as requested
Participate as a counselor in the interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings, assist with on-call rotation, and help with referrals and consents
Provide supervision to interns (as AMTA minimum requirements are met)
Participate on organizational committees
Support community outreach and education activities in partnership with Volunteer and Business Development
Support the bereavement program at the site level — facilitate bereavement groups, workshops and memorials
Required Certifications and Licensures
Board Certified as Music Therapist (MT-BC) by CBMT
Highest level of licensure in state, if applicable
Approved AMTA Intern Supervisor status
Advanced HPMT certification status
Licensed driver who can travel to all business locations
