As a Fire Protection Designer II in our Chapel Hill office, you will contribute to high-performance engineering solutions within a collaborative team that values design excellence and innovation. Responsibilities
Perform calculations, determine system sizing and layouts for fire suppression systems. Select equipment and complete field surveys. Prepare shop drawings and create details and notes for construction documents. Modify and understand specifications for fire suppression systems. Research and resolve building and fire-related code and standard questions with minimal supervision. Qualifications
Technical or Associate Degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or architectural design from an accredited institution, or commensurate experience. General knowledge of fire suppression systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or REVIT; ability to learn engineering design software. Ability to interpret design criteria and translate it into specific layouts. NICET Level I or II certification. Skills and Attributes
Strong spoken and written communications skills. Excellent organization and time management. Quick technical comprehension and a client-focused mindset. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently or in a team. What You Can Expect
