Job Description Apex Systems is looking to hire a Structural Designer to join one of our top clients. This role will be almost 100% remote, with very rare need to go onsite in Birmingham, AL (once or twice per quarter). This is a long‑term, 3‑year contract role that is highly likely to convert permanent during that duration.
Responsibilities
Produce design/fabrication drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and conceptual designs.
Review vendor shop fabrication drawings and prepare material takeoffs.
Support the structural design of transmission and distribution substations across APC and MPC.
Create and modify design drawings for structural steel and reinforced concrete for substation builds.
Requirements
Proficient using AutoCAD.
Steel/concrete detailing background is a plus.
Ability to build effective relationships with customers, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
