Duties, Responsibilities & Other KCI Technologies is hiring a Senior Designer to join our Land Development team in Raleigh, NC. Civil engineering design and calculations for site grading, erosion and sedimentation control, water, wastewater, and stormwater components of Land Development projects. Participation in technical studies, AutoCAD-based design, preparation of specifications, and technical plans. Permitting applications and processing. Construction administration support including field observation reports. Scheduling and preparation of project cost estimates and schedules. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong technical and professional communication skills. Excellent time management skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D required. Ability to work in a team environment on multiple assignments. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred; AA in Engineering technology or drafting required. Minimum of 6-10+ years of professional experience. Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based on the position. Performance Expectations Complete Annual Individual Training Program. Mentor and train staff. Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence. Comply with all KCI policies and procedures. Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements. Manage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required. Complete other duties as required/assigned. Oversee work of designers as required. Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target (85% typical). Attend bi-weekly (or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasks. Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope. Coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required. Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters. Compare field data to base plan. Design and draft construction drawings using standard engineering fundamentals for approval by federal, state, and local agencies. Gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes, and photographs as needed. Read and interpret technical documents needed for the job. Review and interpret design manuals and details from local jurisdictions. Size and specify design requirements. KCI Technologies, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
