Technical Associates
Technical Associates is seeking a Mechanical Designer to work on projects for industrial clients. The successful candidate will work closely with clients on a daily basis, under the direction of multiple engineers and project managers.
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering project execution, strong working knowledge of manufacturing and process plant environments, and be fully proficient in the use of 2D and 3D CAD.
Requires local travel to client site for meetings, field inspections, and startup. Designer will work with project engineer to conduct field data collection and generate construction drawings based on measurements and sketches.
On-site work conditions will include an industrial facilities environment, including a wide temperature range.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
5 years of industrial mechanical design experience Tech School diploma or equivalent experience Understanding of basic engineering technology and manufacturing techniques Preferred experience would include machine design or machine modifications, conveyors, mechanical systems design, piping design, P&IDs, and equipment layouts Must be fully proficient in working in both 2D and 3D drawings Must be fully familiar with working with 3D Laser equipment Solid Works or AutoCAD Inventor strongly preferred Must have the ability to actively contribute to the design process and assist in problem solving within a teamwork setting Must be able to climb ladders, stairways, and access equipment Must be able to climb caged personnel ladder Must be capable of walking long distances, including from parking lot to designated job area and throughout a large manufacturing plant Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and motor vehicle report according to company and client policies Good communication skills, both verbal and written Self-motivated Able to take direction from supervising engineer We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
