Senior Ready-to-Wear Technical Designer About The Role A brand synonymous with timeless sophistication and modern design for over five decades, is seeking a Senior Ready-to-Wear Technical Designer to join our New York team. This role reports directly to the Head of Design & Product Development and works closely with the Designers to uphold the brand’s standards of fit, construction, and quality across all categories. As part of the collection, this position requires strong experience across multiple product categories — including tailored wovens, soft wovens, and knits — to ensure consistency of fit and execution throughout the line.

Key Responsibilities

Report to the Head of Design & Product Development and partner daily with the Design team to ensure aesthetic intent is achieved through precise technical execution.

Lead fit sessions and collaborate directly with designers to translate creative vision into technically sound garments that reflect the company’s modern yet timeless aesthetic.

Measure and evaluate samples, preparing garments and detailed fit comments ahead of fittings.

Maintain consistent fit standards and ensure accurate application of grade rules across all categories (jackets, pants, dresses, tops, and sweaters).

Communicate with domestic and overseas vendors to ensure all pattern, fit, and construction standards are met.

Partner with Product Development and Production to uphold the seasonal development calendar and manage the sample approval process.

Provide technical direction to internal and external teams on construction methods, finishing techniques, and pattern corrections to improve balance and fit.

Anticipate and resolve any issues in the fit or development process to maintain calendar deadlines and product quality.

Collaborate with cross-functional partners to uphold brand standard of excellence across all deliveries and seasonal collections.

Qualifications

Associate degree or certification in Apparel Manufacturing, Patternmaking, or Technical Design.

5–8 years of experience in women’s Ready-to-Wear, preferably in luxury or contemporary brands.

Proven experience working across multiple categories, including tailored wovens, soft woven, and knits — within a structured collection.

Expert knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, and fit standards.

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with vendors.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple seasons and categories simultaneously.

Proficiency in Illustrator, Excel, PLM.

Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Salary: $100,000 - $115,000
