Overview
We are looking for a Civil CAD Designer / Drafter for a position in the Greater Tampa, Florida area. The CAD Designer is an experienced professional with a background in the design and preparation of construction drawings using civil 3d and / or MicroStation software for both public and private projects. They will also compile project manuals, prepare permit applications and interact with clients and government agencies.
Responsibilities
Design preliminary layouts from engineering notes, sketches, and / or other drawings, ensuring they meet our company and industry standards and codes
Prepare engineering drawings for review and submittal.
Complete drawing / project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule; reviewing own work for completeness and accuracy
Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files, and project-related information per our company policies and procedures
Produce drawing and document packages
Provide assistance with other CAD related tasks as directed
Work with other CAD Team Members, Project Managers, and Project Engineers to understand scope of work, schedule, and budget
Follow technical aspects and policies of the Department and Company
Analyze technical problems; devise new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions; and communicate those to supervisor for approval and implementation
Use company’s current technology as much as practicable to design projects
Participate in scheduled Team meetings and, as needed, project meetings
Qualifications Required qualifications include :
AutoCAD and / or MicroStation experience
Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented
Execute multiple tasks under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
Attention to detail and willingness to learn
Willingness to take direction
Demonstrate personal investment in your career
Energetic, flexible, and forward thinking
High School Diploma
Preferred qualifications include :
AutoCAD Civil 3D and / or GEOPAK experience
Associate’s degree, related technical certificate, or equivalent experience
Experience in Microsoft Office applications
